Using software licensed from Mac HelpMate, we can establish a remote screen sharing session through a secure, encrypted connection that is totally controlled by you. While we are connected to your computer, we are in contact with you by telephone.

Cost Effective -- It becomes more economical spending time helping clients with their computers without the drive time. Therefore, we offer our clients:

  • 10% discount off of our hourly rates for remote support
  • minimum call time of 1/2 hour, as opposed to 1 hour for on-site support
  • monthly memberships at a significantly reduced rate
  • Remote support also means no travel charges and faster response time.
  • Long distance telephone calls are included in our fees.
  • Available anywhere in North America as long as you have a high speed or broadband internet connection

Effective & Efficient -- While we do provide on-site technical support in the Livingston & Washtenaw areas, our experience on 95% of Mac OS X technical support issues can be solved without us physically being in front of the computer. Many of our clients actually find remote support to be more efficient, particularly when we providing instructions, because they have full access to the computer and are focused on the screen instead of us.

Extremely Safe and Secure -- Mac HelpMate's remote screen sharing technology uses a number of safety features to ensure the security of my clients:

  • Screen sharing can only be initiated by the customer.
  • The customer has the ability to see everything that is happening on their computer, and always has the ability to control their mouse and keyboard and/or disconnect me from their computer.
  • The remote connection is made using a one-time use authorization code. As soon as the customer disconnects, I cannot reconnect without a new code initiated by the customer.
  • The connection takes place using a secure "SSH Tunnel" using "Blowfish" encryption technology...in English, this means our remote connection uses even more secure technology than financial institutions use to transfer information.
